The disease recalls itself in everyday life.
A real drama happened at the 2014 Winter Olympics – the world-famous figure skater Evgeni Plushenko refused to participate just a few minutes before the start of the competition. The culprit was a spinal cord injury. Years later, the man again brought up a difficult topic for himself.
In a recent interview, Plushenko admitted that he survived a difficult operation – he had to spend more than four hours on the operating table. Now the skater has several implants in his back and the pain still causes severe discomfort. In addition, as a reminder of what happened, Plushenko keeps medical screws at home.
“A screw that broke in the spine during the Olympics was sawed for four and a half hours. Now the screws are in my house next to the medals. I can already feel it again, and if this happens at 40, what will happen in 20 years!” – quotes the words of the athlete portal Passion.
