Comedy genius Yevgeny Leonov tried his best.
For many fans of Soviet cinema, the name of Georgy Daneliya’s painting “Kin-dza-dza” evokes only one association – a kind of nonsense. The title of the film came about by chance, but how it happened is a special story.
Initially, Danelia planned to call his creation like this – “Stardust”. Later, the script was rewritten several times and the author realized that the title also needed to be changed. Such a fantastic film cannot have a simple title! The idea was thrown by the actor Yevgeny Leonov.
During filming, the artist lay in a hammock. Colleague Stanislav Lyubshin sat down next to him, after which a fateful dialogue ensued.
Lyubshin asked: “What do you have in your wallet?” Leonov behind him, like an echo, repeated: “Fele-fele-fele …” Then he answers: “Green”. – “Which one?” – “Kinza” And let’s sing: “Kin-dza-dza-dza …” – quotes the legendary performers “AiF”.
