The sons and daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton have to get used to the new last name. Now they will be called the same as their father and uncle were called in childhood.
Princess Charlotte and Prince George’s new surname was first used at Elizabeth II’s funeral. After William and his wife became the Prince and Princess of Wales, their children were not Cambridge, but Wales. George and Charlotte were renamed in the Queen’s Funeral Order. Their younger brother Louis also changed his last name.
“Those were very long days for Katherine. She has taken on the new role herself, but she also needs to teach her very young children, aged nine, seven and four, that their last name has changed,” royal expert Angela Mollard told the Daily Express.
