The authors of ABC BlackAppleTV + PachinkoDisney Oscar winner Charm and the satire of Adam McKay don’t look up are among the winners of the 46th edition of the Humanitas Awards. The awards were presented at a ceremony at the Beverly Hilton on Friday afternoon.
The Humanitas Awards have been awarded since 1973 to honor television and film writers whose work explores the human condition with nuance and substance. Writers in 10 categories receive $ 10,000 in cash prizes.
Other winners included Nanfu Wang for his documentary in the same breathMatt Harris for writing the screenplay for Ted Melfi star Starring Melissa McCarthy, Kevin Kline and Marissa Jo Serrai to write an episode of the ABC anthology series “Mother and Son” women of the movement.
Also during the ceremony, attended by Larry Wilmore, Humanitas presented the Kieser Award to Filmmakers for Ukraine and the Voice for Change Award for the network’s #TakeTheLead initiative to Starz President and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch. There was also the Carol Mendelsohn College Drama Award and the David and Lynn Angell College Comedy Awards, which are given to college screenwriters.
