Daniel Kaluuya reveals he turned down a comeback chance for Black Panther 2

Daniel Kaluuya revealed that he had to turn down a chance to return due to a scheduling conflict for the upcoming Marvel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sequel.

Playing T’Challa’s best friend W’Kabi, played by the late Chadwick Boseman in the original 2018 film, the 33-year-old actor chose to play in Jordan Peele’s sci-fi epic Nope.

When asked if he had seen the trailer for the sequel, he replied, “Of course I did! Fantastic.’

Daniel refused to reveal with a laugh whether his warrior character would return in future movies. “You know I can’t tell you!”

The thriller Nope hit number one at the box office last month, pushing the other Marvel Thor: Love & Thunder to number two.

Reuniting Daniel with his director, Get Out, the sci-fi thriller centers on two brothers who own a horse ranch on the outskirts of the California desert and “witness a gruesome and terrifying discovery,” according to an official synopsis.

Coming after a teaser for the highly anticipated Black Panther sequel It was released at San Diego Comic-Con last month.

In the new clip, some of the stars of the first movie, including Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira, face off against a host of new enemies besieging the titular land.

Several scenes from the nation of Wakanda are shown and also include Letitia Wright’s Shuri and Angela Bassett’s Ramonda.

After Okoye, played by Gurira, is shown interacting with several Wakandan warriors, the aforementioned characters seem to mourn T’Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman, and give birth to another underwater figure.

Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta, then makes his debut, with several Maya-style Atlantean warriors riding alongside a pair of whales.

Shortly after the original’s release, a sequel to the original Black Panther was developed, first presented in 2018.

Multiple cast members from the first film have expressed interest in returning for a sequel, although plans were complicated when Boseman tragically died of colon cancer in August 2020.

It was later confirmed that there would be plans for a sequel and that the role of the late actor would not be replenished.

Filming for the project began in June last year and continued until the team ended last March.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 11.
