Speaking to a panel at Deadline’s Contenders Television: The Nominees Awards, the awards season event, Jon Hoffman, executive producer and co-creator of the mystery comedy, was questioned about whether Chase would appear in the new season. Jane Lynch also appeared in what she was like becoming Martin’s principal and the direction she was given.

Hoffman explained that he feels “solid” with the show’s current trio of Short, Martin and Selena Gomez, revealing that it’s only been “a few weeks” since they recently opened the writers’ room for a third season.
“There will be projects for many, many more friends and other things and this is happening right now,” he added. “It’s very exciting. I’m very excited to see the sediment. [Lane] And Jane is here today because there is something so magical when we have people in our building and in our field, in our world, coming in and lifting everything up and keeping the big changes as artists like they know how to do like no one else. I have no interest in leaving anyone in Season 3 if anyone is available. “
Lynch starred as Charles Saz Pathak’s stunt double, saying he was tasked with being more like Martin, but also being himself and “a better version of Steve’s character.”
“I’m doing everything better,” added Lynch. “I’m sexier, I’m sexier for women, I’m more athletic and probably a better actor … I probably shouldn’t have the part and we all know that.”
He also said: “I liked it. I only lived to make her feel bad about herself and find opportunities to express it, but with love, you know she loves, she loves the boy. It is a little rough. “
