Hollywood actor Johnny Depp may be risking a new lawsuit. The artist would have stolen someone else’s intellectual property.
Recently, Depp recorded a joint music album “18” with British guitarist Jeff Beck. It seems that after a period of “cancellation”, the actor is successfully returning to work, but not without controversy.
Folklorist Bruce Jackson has claimed that Depp and Beck appropriated several lines from his 1974 book Get Your Ass in the Water and Swim. It reportedly mentions toasts that are common among African Americans. The author collaborated with former inmate Slim Wilson on the collection. Now Jackson does not rule out the possibility of suing Depp, Rolling Stone writes.
“The only two lines Depp and Beck wrote were Big time motherf-r and Bust it down to my level,” Jackson said of the song.
Meanwhile, Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard struggles with money after a lawsuit. The actress even sold her Southern California home.
