Lupita Nyong’o responded to Tuesday’s Emmy Award nomination for her work on the Discovery + Serengeti II documentary series by sharing a snapshot of her time on set.
The 39-year-old artist, who will compete in the Best Storyteller category, has uploaded several photos and clips of her exploring the African plains.
He also wrote a short message in the header of his post to publicly express his excitement at being nominated for the award.

Nyong’o began her message by thanking the organization that nominated her for the award.

The 12-year-old actress also noted that she loved being in place during the filming of the series.
He wrote: “I love being a part of a show that almost inspired me to go out!”

Nyong’o started her video by putting together several photos of her working on the show, including a selfie with a lion in the background.
He also added a photo of himself sitting on a beach watching a gorgeous sunset.
His video ended with a clip he shot while driving through a beautiful savannah.

The original season of Serengeti aired on Discovery Channel in 2019.
Series creator Simon Fuller spoke about Deadline during its debut, stating that he was “really emotional” during the development of the show.
“Of all the shows I’ve done or worked on, nothing compares to the Serengeti,” he said.
Nyong’o later spoke on Deadline and expressed her excitement at working on the drama that will earn her her first Emmy nomination at the 2020 ceremony.

“The stories of these beautiful creatures are universal and I am honored to accompany the public on their journey,” he said.
The second season of the show aired on Discovery Plus in July last year.
The artist will compete with David Attenborough, Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, W. Kamau Bell and former President Barack Obama for the best storyteller award.
The next Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on September 12.
