The Writers Guild Theater, which has been open for shows since April, is implementing a booster confirmation and vaccination policy as the latest Covid-19 sub-variant, BA.5, is on the rise in Los Angeles County.
WGA West leaders are also dictating the law, telling members that “arguing with staff will not be tolerated” if they are turned away because they forgot to bring their vaccination card or don’t have one.
However, skins are optional, although “strongly” recommended. This link adjusts.
“We were delighted to reopen the Writers Guild Theater for Guild screenings in April and hope you enjoy the selection of films,” they wrote in an email. Sent to members this afternoon.
“We would like to take a moment to remind you that the Guild has implemented a Covid-19 vaccination and recall policy to participate in the Guild screenings. Requires all participants over the age of 12 to prove that they have received the full Covid-19 vaccine plus a booster. Children between 5 and 11 only need a full vaccination test and children under 5 are exempt. We cannot make exceptions to this rule (including medical exceptions). Face covers are optional at this time, although we highly recommend wearing them. N95 / KN95 masks are available upon request at the WGA theater.
“As you continue to enjoy the shows at the WGA Theater, we also ask that you treat the staff with kindness. If you cannot show proof of your vaccination and recall status to OR staff, please come back when you can comply. Please note that theater staff follow protocols and no confrontations with staff are allowed.
“Thank you for your understanding and we hope you continue to enjoy the shows.”
