Former This Morning presenter Fern Britton had just joined the BBC’s Breakfast Time team in the early 1980s when co-host Frank Bough made the “rude” comment.
Fern Britton revealed that Frank Bough once boasted about the size of his manhood, saying, “I wonder how long it will be before I’m in a relationship with you.”
The “astonished” TV presenter had just joined the BBC’s Breakfast Time team in the early 1980s when co-presenter Bough made the comment.
Veteran Frank also told him, “I have a really big dick,” which Britton, 64, admitted was “seemingly accurate” from what he’d heard.
She added that the comments, while unpleasant, hardened her.
Speaking on the Postcards from Midlife podcast, Fern, a mother of four, said: “All these men I’ve worked with, some are better than others.

“Eamonn Holmes is a dream, Frank Bough was a tough guy. Do I have to tell you a raw story?
“When I arrived for breakfast in 1982 or 83, I was the presenter or presenter with Frank.
“I was the substitute, so whenever someone was absent, I substituted them.
“So she was running the show with Frank, and she didn’t like him at all, really. He wasn’t exactly the friendly guy she claimed to be him.

“When I first joined the show, the whole team took me for lunch at a lovely restaurant in London.
“We got to the part where we ate the pudding and everyone was lighting a cigarette, because that’s what you did.
“Frank was sitting next to me and leaned back in his chair, looked at me and said, ‘Well, I wonder how long it will be before I’m in a relationship with you, because I have a very big c. * Ck’.

“It’s amazing, isn’t it?
“By hearsay, apparently, he was right about this. [of him having a very big c*ck].
“Anyway, in the end he hated me.
“He really didn’t like me and I had a pretty rough time on that show.
“It hardens you, but it’s amazing what you get over.”
Frank Bough has presented BBC sports and current affairs programs including Grandstand, Nationwide and Breakfast Time during a television career spanning nearly 40 years.
He died in October 2020, at the age of 87.
