Spectators certainly saw Queen Elizabeth II “in disguise” in the crowd at the famous Glastonbury music festival.

While the event is filled with famous musical talent this weekend, fans back home seem to think there was a special royalty there as well.

During live coverage of Robert Plant, the camera pans a woman in the crowd wearing a blue hooded jacket and round, dark sunglasses.

The mystery person also sported red lipstick and a fringe that fell softly on her forehead, which some thought was a “costume”.

Seeing what appeared to be Our Majesty the Queen on their screens, viewers back home quickly took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Some thought the Queen was in Glastonbury

One person wrote, “I am delighted to see the Queen enjoying Robert Plant in #Glastonbury.”

Meanwhile, another viewer echoed: “The Queen has come to Glastonbury to see Robert Plant. This suit is not fooling anyone.”

After a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Glastonbury is finally back to eagerly await festival goers around the world.

Thousands of music lovers descended on Somerset for a five-day party while Billie Eilish and Paul McCartney headed the show.

Fans shared their thoughts online.

However, a surprising appearance took center stage in the form of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who took the opportunity to continue raising awareness and highlighting the devastation taking place in his country.

In a video message posted before The Libertines opened on Friday 24 June, Zelenskyy invited festival attendees to “spread the truth” about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Some onlookers thought they saw the queen in the crowd.

He said: “We in Ukraine too would like to live as before and enjoy the freedom and this wonderful summer, but we can’t because the most terrible thing has happened: Russia has stolen our peace.”

“That is why I invite you to support Glastonbury, the largest gathering for freedom today, and I ask you to share this sentiment with all those whose freedom is threatened.”

He added: “Spreading the truth about the Russian war, helping Ukrainians who are forced to flee their homes because of the war.

“Time is priceless and every day is measured in human lives. The more people join us in the defense of freedom and truth, the sooner Russia’s war against Ukraine ends. Prove that freedom always wins! “
