Will Wentworth Miller return for the Prison Break spinoff? Fans are rioting and calling for the classics not to be spoiled

The Hulu film studio is preparing a new project based on Prison Break, which is expected to be released almost ten years after the main series finale. This time the action will take place in the same world, but with completely different characters. The lead role in the spin-off will be played by Emily Browning, who will embody the character of Cassidy Collins, a former soldier who now works as an employee of a strict prison in the United States.

The pilot episode was directed by Elgin James. Lucas Gage and Drake Roger joined the main cast. The plot will focus on what moral and human boundaries the heroine is willing to break for the sake of her loved ones.

The return of Michael Scofield and other central characters from the original series is not planned: the story will tell about new faces. Only the cinematic universe in which the action takes place will remind you of ancient events. Wentworth Miller has publicly expressed his approval of the future project and its participants, although the appearance of his character has been ruled out.

Following the announcement of the launch of a female version of Prison Break, discussions on social media have been controversial. Some viewers believe that well-known heroes cannot be replaced, and one user argued that such initiatives “spoil the classics.”

There were also comments that the change in the main character and the emphasis on the female image were related to the desire to respond to modern demands, and not to the development of the plot as such. The original Prison Break series aired for five seasons and starred Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, as well as actors such as Robin Tunney and Peter Stormare. The project received a high rating and still has a score of 8.3 out of 10 on IMDb. Given the high expectations, the interest in the spin-off is accompanied by a suspicious reaction from viewers.
