In October the Black Phone 2 is released on the scenes – the continuation of the successful thriller, which has already received the highest assessment of Stephen King himself.
The writer spoke about the film after his premiere at the Fantastic Fest of the Great Film Festival.
On September 22, King wrote in social networks: “This is not only as good as the first. It is better.”
His post was accompanied by the promotional art of the film: on the demonic mask covered with snow, the name of Itan Hawka, the black-red name and the slogan “Death is just a word.” The world premiere is planned for October 17, 2025, the director is Scott Derrickson.
Not only King is pleased with the sequel: based on the first reviews, the “Black Phone 2” will really be almost better than the original. The Critic Slant Magazine noted that “Derrickson connects dreams, reality, past and present in a single cinematic nightmare.” Slash film noted that the follow -up will not repeat the course of the first part, but goes in a new direction. What is known about the film
The Black Phone 2 continues the story four years after the events of the first film. In the middle, Gwen, which is again tormented by disturbing visions, and Finn, is an attempt to tackle the past. Ethan Hawke returns to the role of Grabber, Mason Thames (Finn), Madeleine Mcgrow (Gwen), Jeremy Davis, Miguel Mora will also appear on the screen.
This time the heroes have to go to Lake Alpine during a snowstorm, where Gwen starts to receive calls from a “black phone” in his dreams. Finn and Gwen are confronted with a new, even more dangerous embodiment of Grabber, whose connection with their families is the key to unraveling.
The script was written by Scott Derrickson based on the story of Joe Hill, son of Stephen King.
