Apple TV+ introduced a new large-scale historical project-de mini series “War Leader” (Chef by War) with Jason Momoa in the title role.
The star “Dunes: Part Two” and “Aquaman” plays the Polynesian leader Ciana, one of the most important participants in the events that led to the unification of the Hawaiian Islands at the end of the 18th century.
History through the eyes of indigenous residents
The plot transfers spectators to the era in which the four most important islands – Hawaii, Maui, Oahu and Kauai – were at war. For fear of Western colonization, the supreme ruler of Cameaea tried to unite the islands under a single government. In the center of history is the path of Caiana, which serves under the leadership of Cameaeee and participates in decisive battles.
For Momoa, this project is a matter of honor:
“This is our story, our heritage. I don’t play a superhero or invented character, I portray my ancestors. There can be no mistakes here,” the actor said in an interview with the Wrap.
The project is mainly involved in the Polynesian cast and the director of various episodes was succeeded by Justin Jung (Pachinko). The last ninth episode was removed by Momoa itself.
Where to look and when the episodes will come true
The war leader is available on Apple TV+ from 1 August. On this day the service set the first two episodes and the remaining seven are released weekly on Friday. The final will be released on September 19.
