If the public thought that the continues of cult -horror films have long exhausted themselves, then the new version of “I Know What You Did last summer” clearly decided to convince everyone.

In the film, Jennifer Katin Robinson, the makers changed a reception that rarely succeeds: they took a beloved hero of the original – and turned him into a murderer. And of course we are about Ray Bronson performed by Freddy Prince Jr ..

The third act shows that Ray is one of the two maniacs to terrorize the Salutport. The second is the heroine of Sarah Pidzhon named Stevie Ward. For the public this will be an unexpected but logical turn: Ray has lost the injury in recent years, which has extended since 1997 when it all started.

How Ray Bronson became a murderer in the new “I know what you were doing last summer”

At the start of the film, Ray seems very normal – he holds a bar, instructs Stevie, a brand new employee, and makes the impression of a person who has established his life externally. But it quickly becomes clear: Julie James had nothing out of for a long time, and especially he is still angry in the city, who tried to forget the series of murders that took place in the 90s.

It appears that anger is hidden behind external decency. The years of malice not only destroyed Ray from the inside – he handed it to Stevi, and together they start to take revenge on the city and former friends of Stevi.

Freddy Prince Jr. In an interview told how he approached the image of Ray. According to him:

“I have many friends who have not developed for various reasons. Sometimes it is an injury and you don’t work, you seem to shorten it, and then some small things are activated, which are actually connected to what happened many years ago.”

The prince added that work on such a heavy material was exhausted, but the process was exciting:

“There is something heavy in it when you bring all this charge to the set. But between the words ‘motor’ and ‘stop’ is a buzz, because you can show all this, you realize. And then take a look at what is happening at the moment.”

The actor explained that in the first films his hero was still a “normal guy”, a hard worker, but years did their work. At one point Ray Net broke. And when the prince realized how to play a broken person, everything fell into place:

“Ray failed. And the injury – she makes you either stronger or breaks in two. I know the people she has tempered and I know those who broke them. This is of course spoilers. But yes, he broke – and the result is for you. “

The idea of making Ray a murderer is actually not new

It is curious that the studio seriously considered such a plot movement in the 90s. Already after the release of the first film it was discussed whether Ray Murderer was discussed in the future. During the test shows, however, the audience responded abruptly: no one wanted to believe that a charming man from the first part was actually a maniac. That is why they left the idea – and instead they removed the crazy sequel: “I still know what you did last summer”, where, you remember, Jack Black played with dreadlures in the lead role.

After more than two decades, the studio nevertheless decided to realize a long forgotten idea, but according to the money costs: “I know what you did last summer” for the premiere weekend, the idea itself is still like that.
