Jackson Ratbone, who played the Vampire of Jasper Hale in Twilight, 13 years after the franchise final, stated that he would not be against the prequel – about the past of his character. The question is of course still purely hypothetical, but the fact of such a desire already talks a lot about much: either the actor seriously believes that Jasper has something to say, or the shooting is very missing.

In the conversation with Collision Ratbone emphasized that the story of Jasper remained behind the scenes. According to him, the character survived the war at the age of 17, went through cruel events, suffering from inner darkness and guilt, and the only light for him was the meeting with Alice. According to the actor, this deserves the film adjustment – not the love line of Bella and Edward, but the personal drama of the vampire who fights with himself and does not immediately fit into the moral code of the Cullen family.

In the books and films we remember, we really remember against the background of the rest. He hardly kept to the “vegetarian diet” (that is, he did not drink human blood), he could control the emotions of others and remained closed for a long time. Relationships with Alice helped him to adjust, but his past – a civil war, murders, the vampire army – was practically not on the screen.

Ratbone himself connects the path of his hero with the topics of reconciliation and the second chance. In an interview he said that he worked with rehabilitation programs and in Jasper sees the image of a person fighting for a new life, despite the dark past.
