The “Iron Heart” series finally went to Disney+but this had disappeared. The discussion of the project in the beginning amounted to two topics: catastrophic low estimates of the public and accusations of the same spectators of racism.
Already on the release day, June 24, the series had dozens of negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, despite the fact that by that time no one had seen a single series. In Kinopoisk, the rating collapsed to 3.8 out of 10 – for comparison, even when the “secret invasion” now 5.8.
In the American press this was immediately called the “wave of racist revoy bombing”, because the leading role is played by a girl, inventor and student Tony Stark-Riri Williams.
But if you dig deeper, it becomes clear: the point is not in the color of the skin, but that the series itself is corny bad. An uninteresting scenario, cheap production, lack of charisma in the protagonist, a different meaningless by -product of the exhausted MCU. All this can be seen even without viewing all episodes – it is enough to open every trailer or clip from the series.
Nevertheless, Marvel again chose a defense strategy through an attack. Instead of acknowledging that the ‘iron heart’ does not work as a drama, or as a fantastic, or as a superhero entertainment adventure, the fans were accused of ‘racism’ and ‘feminine’. Although exactly the same claims were previously presented to the “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, “Miss Marvel”, “Woman Hulk” and “Secret Invasion”-where the main characters were different, and the racial question has nothing to do with it. Only projects were weak in themselves.

It is important that the series was actively promoted even before the release as an “important step towards representation”, and not as an exciting story. Marketing made a bet on the “agenda”, and not on the plot, characters or entertainment. As a result, the fans received a boring retelling of the already seen: a young ingenious girl from a dysfunctional area constructs an armored suit, is activated template villains and receives recognition – we have already passed on this.
No plot experiments, no new breathing – only blurry movements, secondary characters and a complete lack of interest. The problem is not in the color of the skin and not in female characters: the problem is that Marvel has again released a product that nobody needs.
And instead of admitting that the series did not succeed, they again preferred everyone who did not agree.
