Good Morning Britain turned cold when presenter Ben Shephard targeted meteorologist Laura Tobin, just days after she left the set.

Ben and his co-host, Kate Garraway, were discussing the collective name of a meteorologist as Laura joins 29 of her other meteorologists for a speech.

Laura is currently in Innsbruck, Austria for the International Weather Summit, surrounded by clouds and determined to “push them back,” Kate joked.

But it wasn’t all fun and games, as Ben told viewers: “Our producers just suggested a drop in time.”

Charlotte Hawkins suggested a “sunbeam” from the weather presenters to lighten the mood, while other suggestions included a “mess”, a “shower” and a “fog”.

Good Morning Britain's Laura Tobin got into trouble with her husband

The confusion certainly seemed to bother Laura, as Kate said, “Oh, it drove her crazy, she doesn’t like it!”

It came at a rather tense time, as it was a few days before Richard Madeley told Laura they “didn’t need her anymore,” after an argument about the red skies on the show.

Richard’s cheeky comment came after he asked, “I have to say there was an amazing sunrise this morning, it was a very, very bright, bright, bright red.

“Is that old adage morning dawn, shepherd’s warning true?” I ask.

Laura explains: “Red skies in the morning, shepherd’s warning: actually this is true because the sun rises in the southeast and basically reflects on the coming clouds. So if clouds are coming, it will rain later. “

Richard then joked: “Oh great, then we don’t need you!” and he quickly continued the program.

Laura then left the set saying jokingly: “Okay, see you later!”
