And it’s not Q.
Over the 62 years of Bond’s existence, many celebrities have appeared in episodic roles in the films.
Madonna gave fencing lessons in Die Another Day, David Harbour showed off his moustache in Quantum of Solace and Richard Branson was wanted in Casino Royale.
It was hard not to notice these and other movie stars, but the man who starred in the largest number of Agent 007 films hardly attracted the public’s attention.
We’re not talking about Q, played by Desmond Llewelyn, who worked with most of the James Bonds, but about franchise co-producer Michael J. Wilson.
He appeared in 17 parts of the series, as Llewelyn, but played more different characters:
“Goldfinger” – soldier from Fort Knox
“The spy who loved me” – man in the Pyramid Theater
“Moon Raker” – stranger behind Venini Glass, NASA technician, man on bridge
“For your eyes only” – Greek priest at a wedding
“Octopus” – member of the Soviet Security Council, man on a tourist boat
“A View of a Murder” – voice from speaker
“Sparks from the eyes” – patron of the opera
“License to Kill” – DEA agent
“Golden Eye” – Member of the Russian Security Council
“Tomorrow never dies” —Tom Wallace
‘The whole world is not enough’ – male V casino
“Die another day” – General Chandler
“Casino Royale” – Chief Commissioner of Police
“Quantum of comfort” – hotel guest sitting in the lobby
“007: Skyfall Coordinates – carrier
“007: Spectrum” – a man passing M and S in the hallway
“No time to die” – a military officer at a party.
After watching such an impressive cameo filmography, we don’t think anyone will be in any doubt as to who will make a small cameo appearance in the 26th Bond film.
