Vince Vaughn returns to the big screen.
The comedy detective film Bad Monkey has become one of the biggest hits of the year. And it seems Vince Vaughn and writer Bill Lawrence have no qualms about returning to Apple TV+ for a potential second season.
American critics liked the story of retired police officer Andrew Yancy so much that the first season of the series was not only highly received 93% “fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, but also won the title of Best Comedy of 2024.

‘Bad Monkey’ is already being foreshadowed by Golden Globe nominations, and Vince Vaughn’s performance is being confidently heralded as the actor’s ‘return’ to Hollywood Olympus.
Apple TV+ producers will definitely want to make another season based on Carl Hiaasen’s next book. And Vaughn announced that he would definitely return to the role of Yancy in new episodes.
“That’s always a possibility, because there are more books about Yancy. But what I like about this season is that it’s just a new moment in time for Yancy. But yeah, I think we could possibly do another season.” – said Vaughn.
Despite excellent ratings from critics and viewers, the series never became a worldwide hit. Yes, on IMDb “Bad Monkey” got an excellent rating 7.4 points, but only 7,500 people rated it – not enough for an Apple TV+ series.
And in Russia the situation is even worse. The series got a rating of 7.4 points, but only 1,300 people watched it.
