Stunningly developed characters, medieval dark fantasy, themes of power, succession and the struggle for the throne – all of this made House of the Dragon so appealing to the viewer. If you’re more drawn to the political games and intrigue of House of the Dragon, check out Legend of the Galactic Heroes. On the surface, the 1988 cult space opera has nothing in common with the medieval fantasy epic. But when it comes to the tone and politics of the story, few shows are more reminiscent of George R. R. Martin than Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
