Sometimes critics and audiences have radically different opinions about a film. Some films get devastating reviews despite the support of a broad audience. This is exactly what happened, for example, with ‘Venom’ – a box office hit that critics hated but viewers loved for its charismatic antihero and exciting action.

Sometimes critics and viewers act as a united front: as in the case of ‘Morbius’ or ‘Madame Web’, which apparently nobody liked. But not everything that critics call consumer goods turns out to be so in reality.
‘Step Forward’ is still enjoyed by children of the 2000s. Well, even Gen Z knew how to appreciate this movie and turned it into a meme, by making short videos about dancing in the rain (they remember that same scene, right?). Sometimes a movie doesn’t have to be a refined masterpiece to earn a place in the hearts of the audience, but for critics, atmosphere and memorable scenes certainly won’t be enough.
Still, that’s no reason to deny your favorite movies, even if they didn’t earn a single percentage from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes. After all, even “Madame Web” can be watched with pleasure if you gather a group of friends and have a good laugh!
