By the way, the author of the books on which “Bones” is based, Katie Reich, is also the producer of the series itself. Perhaps that’s why the film adaptation was a success: filmmakers rarely succeed in adapting books well unless the author is involved. But Reich is not only famous for this story: she has written 32 novels in total, which have been translated into 30 languages. She is also a professor of anthropology herself, currently working at the University of North Carolina.
But perhaps there was another surprise waiting for you in our selection. Yes, even “Dexter” is actually an adaptation of a book. The Dexter story began with Jeff Lindsay’s first novel, Dexter’s Slumbering Demon, and quickly became a Showtime hit. Incidentally, many of Lindsay’s published works were co-written with his wife Hilary Hemingway. Yes, that’s the same last name: his wife is the niece of Ernest Hemingway himself.
