An underestimated space team.

The blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will most likely be the final film about a team of space heroes. Director James Gunn left the MCU for the DCEU, and most of the original cast are not eager to reprise their roles without Gunn in the director’s chair.

Fans are certain that Kevin Feige is already planning to retire the Guardians of the Galaxy, as the MCU may soon have their ideal replacement: the Star Extinguishers.

This team of space pirates appeared in the original comics in 1977, but the invention of writer and artist Dave Cockrum never managed to become more popular than other teams in Marvel comics.

That said, Feige has a good reason to make the Extinguishers the new stars of the MCU.

The leader of the extinguishers is a pirate named Corsair, known by his real name: Christopher Summers. If this little-known actor’s last name sounds familiar, don’t be surprised.

Christopher is the father of mutants Cyclops, Vulcan, and Havok. Feige will be adding the X-Men to the MCU very soon, so adding the extinguishers would make a lot of sense.

Other members of the pirate crew included the Hulk-like saurid Ch’odom, the ferret-like Kr’rii, the mephitizoid Hepzibboy, and the cyborg Raza Longknife.

The original team of cosmic Avengers would make a perfect replacement for the Guardians of the Galaxy. We can only imagine how hard Feige will have to work with the cast of characters to outshine the all-star cast of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel!

Analysts are convinced that waiting for the Extinguishers to appear before 2027 would be a mistake – the MCU simply doesn’t have enough time to introduce the characters earlier.
