Sauron has made a big mistake.
Prime Video’s Rings of Power Season 2 is beloved by JRR Tolkien has much more to offer than the embarrassing first book. The writers focused on the canon of the story created by the author, making the prequel storylines much more realistic and interesting.
In the recently released fifth episode, received from IMDb users 7.5 points of the 10, the prequel writers revealed to fans one of the most important secrets of Middle-earth: how the hobbits were able to defeat Sauron.
In one of the scenes of the new episode, Sauron, under the guise of Annatar, revealed his plan to protect the nine rings – he distributed them among people, relying on their lust for power and greed.
Sauron was convinced that there would be those among men who could harness the power of the rings, and he knew that he could guarantee their safety and control his entire plan.
But the hero failed to take one thing into account: the hobbits.
These people are in many ways very similar to humans, while the inhabitants of the Shire lack one characteristic of humanity: ambition. Hobbits are not greedy, they strive for only one thing: peace and a peaceful life.
That is why Gandalf’s plan was so brilliant. Sauron could not even imagine that peaceful hobbits could take possession of the ring. So he looked only at humans, completely forgetting the people of the Shire.
Sauron underestimated the hobbits – it was this miscalculation that ruined him.
Episode 6 of the second season of “Rings of Power” will be released on September 19.
