Modern trends can finally do their job and help the heroine change her fate.
The Chronicles of Narnia film franchise, based on the book series by Clive Staples Lewis, became an instant worldwide classic upon the first film’s release in 2005, but its success could soon be repeated.
The reboot of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, which will this time be directed by the creator of the hit ‘Barbie’ Greta Gerwig, was announced a few months ago, and now fans are hoping that rethinking the story in modern circumstances will only make it better – and ultimately treat it fairly.

Of all the Pevensie siblings, only Susan gets a rather strange storyline and as a result, she often doesn’t get the same attention as Peter, Edmund, and Lucy. If Susan appears to the reader and then to the viewer as a true warrior in the first book, she is the only one who eventually loses faith in Narnia and returns to England, without showing any interest in what has become the most important part of her childhood.
Moreover, in Lewis’s interpretation, Susan is a collective image of all kinds of stereotypes about women who may only be interested in dresses or the latest fashionable cosmetics.

Nearly 70 years after the series was published, it is unlikely that it will be repeated on screen – and now fans of the saga are crossing their fingers, believing that Greta Gerwig can give Susan something more than the fate of an ordinary middle-class housewife.
