An unexpected glimpse into a familiar image.
With a month to go until the long-awaited sequel premieres, the buzz surrounding “Madness for Two” is growing.
And all thanks to a clever (?) marketing campaign in which Warner Bros. shared new images.
One of them featured Harvey Dent, played by Harry Lawty, familiar to viewers of ‘The All-Seeing Eye’ and ‘Industry’.
Despite his talent and experience, the 27-year-old actor caused outrage among Christopher Nolan fans because of his young age and unrepresentative appearance.
In the Dark Knight trilogy, Aaron Eckhart’s character is Gotham’s district attorney, a symbol of hope and justice, who is disfigured by the Joker and transformed into the villain Two-Face.
The actor conveyed all the nuances of the character and enchanted the audience with a sonorous, emotional and unforgettable performance.
In Todd Philips’ version, Dent is still an assistant prosecutor and can hardly compete with his predecessor in terms of charisma.
“So Harvey is a teenager now?” one netizen asked sarcastically.
Fans may want to give Lawty a chance, but the director planned a duology, which simply doesn’t give the character enough time to develop into a canonical Batman antagonist.
Unless the creators find a creative way to help him…
Or this won’t be necessary at all, as the plot will focus on the Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) and Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga).
Viewers can confirm or remove their fears on October 4.
