It’s time to return to Middle-earth.
This Thursday marks the world premiere of the second season of Rings of Power.
The prequel to Lord of the Rings is set thousands of years before Bilbo Baggins embarked on his first journey.
After introducing the audience to the current characters, the creators began a more in-depth exploration of the Second Age, as confirmed by the synopsis:
“Sauron has returned. Banished by Galadriel, without an army or allies, he can only rely on cunning and wiliness to ensure the creation of the Rings with which he can bend all to his sinister will.”
In the promotional material, viewers were not only directed to the return of the Dark Lord, but also to one of the most spectacular battles in the canon: the Siege of Eregion.
The first three episodes are already available on Amazon Prime Video, with the next ones releasing right on schedule:

Showrunner JD Payne promised that the upcoming episodes will exceed critics and fans’ expectations.
“We got to know our actors a lot better: their voices, the way they portrayed the characters. So we knew how to play to their strengths,” he explained.
Furthermore, in the first season the team was faced with a very difficult and time-consuming task: creating an entire world.
Now that she’s staying behind, they have more room to explore the universe thoughtfully.
