If you still can’t forget the series ‘Breaking Bad’, but are already tired of rewatching it, here is a new one for you. To be precise: the series came out a long time ago, but in fact, few people watched it. But in vain, they have the same atmosphere.
What is the series and what are the similarities?
The series is called “The Wire”. It was released from 2002 to 2008, but still remains one of the top. On IMDb it got a 9.3. This is only 0.2 points less than Breaking Bad.
Fans of Breaking Bad will love this movie because it also features drug dealers and all the associated difficulties that occur on the path of life. The characters here are very ambiguous and contradictory, and at the center of the plot is a real badass.
What is the plot about?
It is based on real events that happened in Baltimore. The police try to catch the drug dealers, but to no avail. The confrontation lasts so long that everyone gets sucked into the funnel – from politicians to children. Then a cool detective comes to the rescue and offers brand new listening devices to identify everyone involved.
There are already 5 seasons in the series, and the episodes in each of them are from 10 to 13. The ideal part to have time to get into the story, but not to get bored. And in the leading roles you can see actors like Dominic West, Lance Reddick, Wendell Pierce, Clarke Peters, Sonya Sohn, Deirdre Lovejoy and other cool people from the 2000s.
