Almost as good as HBO’s masterpiece in terms of ratings.

‘Game of Thrones’ caused such a sensation that many fans are still looking for something similar every now and then. It is true that you do not always come across something valuable, but we have found a diamond. We are talking about a Chinese series, which is often compared to the cult show of HBO.

What kind of project is this?

We are talking about the series “Three Kingdoms” by director Gao Xixi. It was released in 2010 and has 95 episodes. In general, the project itself is also an adaptation of the novel, just like HBO’s. The plot is based on the story of the same name by writer Luo Guanzhong. The book was written in the 14th century and is considered a Chinese version of the Iliad.

The series is set in the 3rd century BC, when the Han Empire fell. The once unified state was divided into three independent kingdoms, which fought fiercely against each other.

Here’s what viewers are saying about the project:

“Most of the series is completely faithful to the novel. If you’re not well-versed in the story, you’ll enjoy the show. However, if you like The Three Kingdoms, some of the characters can be a bit disappointing. That’s the only reason I’m giving it a 9 out of 10.”

“The actors are exceptionally good and the story itself is very multifaceted and exciting. There are noble ambitions, heroism, courage, loyalty, compassion and much more. Very inspiring, I cried so many times. The coolest thing I have ever seen.”

“Few series can keep all 95 episodes so exciting. There are a few drawbacks, but otherwise the production is simply perfect. I rarely say this about TV series, but this is exactly the case.”

Well, the mini-reviews are indeed intriguing. So if you’re already tired of rewatching the Targaryens and others, you can switch to China.
