Why the movie “The Biggest Moon” can be considered a failure.
In 2008, a lot of teenagers went crazy for Twilight. If you were one of them and you like to lapse into nostalgia every now and then, we have bad news for you. In Russia, a similar film was released on July 4, which almost all viewers were confused about. But the critics, strangely enough, liked it.
What kind of movie is this?
We are talking about the painting “The Biggest Moon”. Starring Simona Kust, Ivan Ivashov, Philip Yankovsky, Aristarkh Venes, Tasha Tsvetkova and others.
The plot is based on emers – superhumans with unusual abilities. They can control human emotions and feel no pain. However, they are unable to truly love. One day their world is threatened, and then the main character named Denis, a young half-blood emer, goes in search of the chosen one who can save everyone.

It turns out to be a very typical plot, in which the theme of vampirism echoes a sweet love story. It seems that everyone has seen this more than once, and since he has a visual aid in front of him in the form of ‘Twilight’, the director cannot make a bad film at all.
But the director of “Moon” succeeded. At Kinopoisk the film received only 4.2 points. It is also funny that the name of director Alexei Popogrebsky was removed from the credits. Why – it was never discovered. But there is an opinion that producer Roman Borisevich, listed along with Popogrebsky, was generally dissatisfied with the result and did not want to be involved in the project. And this reluctance is quite understandable.

The main shortcomings include flat humor, unimpressive acting, and absolutely empty sex scenes. In the end, it turned out to be a combo of a bad house movie. There is also an overly complicated plot that you are too lazy to figure out yourself, and the story is not really up to the task. So it was the most boring hour and a half of everyone’s life in the room.
But professional critics were more optimistic in their assessment. They noted the pleasant images and the harmonious mix of genres in the story. Whether you believe them or not is up to you, but the verdict is as follows: it was possible to convey the atmosphere of “Twilight”, because I really wanted to cry while watching it.
