Even fans of the books have little reason to be outraged.
After the ambiguous ending of the debut episode of the new season of ‘House of the Dragon’, the second one was a breath of fresh air. Intrigues are running rampant, among both Blacks and Greens.
King Aegon seeks revenge for the murder of Jaehaerys, but his deceased son must first be buried according to Targaryen customs. The already heartbroken Heleina is shocked by the news that she will have to become one of the participants in the funeral procession, but Alicent convinces her daughter that there is no other way.

Rhaenyra’s allies are certain that it was she who ordered the death of baby Jace, and Damon, who is present at the council, is in no hurry to convince them. The Queen of Blacks fails to prove her innocence, which is why she throws a huge scandal at Matt Smith’s character at the end of the meeting.
Daemon insists that he asked Blood and Cheese for Aemond’s head and no one else, but Rhaenyra doesn’t believe him. Emma D’Arcy’s heroine has no doubts: her husband ordered the mercenaries to kill “at least someone” if the one-eyed prince does not succeed. The conflict ends when Daemon abandons Rhaenyra and flies to Harrenhal to gather an army.

Aemond himself basks in the arms of a fallen woman in one of the brothels and is proud that they tried to kill him.
Aegon kills Blood with his own hands, who did not have time to reach Damon, having previously learned that the murderer ended up in the castle together with the Pied Piper. The mercenary doesn’t know his partner’s name, so the king orders all the Pied Pipers in the city to be hanged, and Cheese is one of them.

Otto Hightower is not at all happy with this decision by the monarch, who is deprived of the title of right-hand man due to bickering with his grandson. The king’s most important advisor is now Kristan Kohl.
The newly minted Hand refused to admit his guilt in the death of Aegon’s heir and scapegoated Arric, one of the members of the Royal Guard. To make amends, Kol orders the knight to go to Dragonstone and kill Rhaenyra, who is served by Arric’s twin brother, Erric.

The episode ends with a fantastic battle scene between two brothers, in which both are killed, after which we see another intimate episode with Kristan and an angry Alicent.
There are still six episodes to go until the end of the season, but you can already find out under what circumstances Rhaenyra Targaryen will die.
