“Home Alone” has been a Christmas movie treat for three decades.

The classic 1990 comedy tells the story of a boy named Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) who is accidentally left home alone during the holidays.

And just when things couldn’t get any worse for Kevin, he has to fend off some thugs trying to break into the family home.

The film was an immediate success, grossing US$476.7 million (AU$733,157,559 million) at the box office and spawning a franchise.

Culkin, 43, who was pictured on the red carpet in 2018, is now the founder of satirical comedy brand Bunny Ears.  He will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later this week

Macaulay Culkin (43) was just 10 years old when he played Kevin.

He then appeared in the 1992 sequel Home Alone and also appeared in other hit films including My Girl (1991) and The Good Son (1993).

In the mid-1990s, Macaulay took a break from the entertainment industry and formed a band, The Pizza Underground. In 2003, he returned to star in Party Monster.

Today, the former child star runs a “comedy brand” called Bunny earswhich offers a satirical take on pop culture.

It was announced Tuesday that Culkin will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He will be honored at a special ceremony in Los Angeles on Friday, December 1.

Culkin has two children with former Disney star Brenda Song.

Catherine O’Hara, 69, a comedy star before appearing as Kevin’s Mother in Home Alone, has become a favorite since her appearance in the sharp sitcom Schitt’s Creek.

After appearing in the Home Alone series, the Canadian-born actress starred in a number of cult parody documentaries, including Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind” (2003 ) and “For Your Consideration” (2006). . . ).

She currently stars in the crime drama Pain Hustlers and will next be seen in the Beetlejuice sequel, Beetlejuice 2.

The popular actress will deliver a speech in honor of her on-screen son when Culkin receives his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later this week.

He also appeared in the TV hits Gladiator and Law and Order.

Sadly, he passed away in 2017 at the age of 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

“Home Alone” introduced veteran actor Joe Pesci, 80, who won an Oscar for best supporting actor for the crime classic “Goodfellas.”

Joe Pesci (80) was already an award-winning actor before he appeared as inept thief Harry in Home Alone.

After his breakthrough in Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull (1990), the starlet won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the gangster classic GoodFellas (1990).

Pesci later starred in other Scorsese films, including Casino (1995) and The Irishman (2019).

He is probably best known for his comedic roles in the Home Alone film series, My Cousin Vinny and Mel Gibson’s Lethal Weapon (1989-1998).

Pesci will next star in Day of the Fight, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year.

Daniel Stern (66) played the role of crazy criminal Marv alongside Joe Pesci in the hit Christmas film.

Stern made his film debut in the 1979 comedy “Breaking Away” and is probably best known for his performance in the hit film “City Slickers II”.

The affable actor has now built a side career as an artist, specializing in sculpture.
