Actor Peter Spellos, known to many as Gus from “American Dreams”, has died.
He was 69.
According to TMZ, the veteran actor has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Spellos’ friend and acting student Jennifer Smith reported that the Jail Breakers actor died Sunday morning surrounded by his loved ones at the Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis.
“He was loved and cared for and surrounded by people in his last days,” she told the outlet.

Spellos was born on March 1, 1954 in Queens, New York.
Not much is known about his early years, but he began working in film and television in 1972, providing voice acting for international animated series such as “Panda!” Go Pandan! and Mobile Suit Gundam I.
His first screen role was in Sorority House Massacre II in 1990.
The New York native later played small roles in films such as Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare and Bad Love.
Spellos also finished as a crew member on several projects in the late 1990s.
The actor got regular roles in the drama “American Dreams”.
The show focused on the Pryor family’s experiences during the turbulent 1960s.
He played the role of Gus, a witty production assistant on American Bandstand.

Spellos is survived by his brother James, who said the family will host an online service for the actor at a later date.
The program ran from 2000 to 2005.
At the same time, Spellos expanded his fan base by portraying the character Sky-Byte in the 2000 animated series Transformers: Robots in Disguise for 39 episodes.
The role made him extremely popular at Comic-Con.
Spellos is survived by his brother James, who said the family will hold an online service for the actor at a later date.
