Taylor Swift, 33, is putting the safety of his fans and team first after a young fan surprisingly died shortly before his show on Friday. The singer was due to perform her second of three shows at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Saturday, but she took to Instagram to announce that the show had been postponed due to high temperatures.
“I’m writing this from my locker room at the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to extreme temperatures in Rio. “The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow artists and crew must and will always come first,” Taylor wrote in her message.

Just hours before Taylor postponed the show, a 23-year-old fan Ana Clara Benevides died of suspected cardiac arrest before the “Midnight Rain” singer took the stage for the first of her three shows in Brazil at Tour of the eras. While the cause of death has yet to be officially confirmed, the temperature at the site apparently reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit and fans were having trouble getting water to stay hydrated. Before Taylor began the show, he shared a touching message, apparently about Ana’s death.
“I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it is with a broken heart that I say that we lost a fan before my show tonight. “I can’t even express how devastated I am by this,” she wrote. “I have very little information other than the fact that she was incredibly beautiful and very young.”
“I won’t be able to talk about it on stage because I feel overwhelmed with sadness when I try to talk about it,” she continued. “I want to say that I am now deeply sorry for this loss and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. “This was the last thing I thought would happen when we decided to do this tour in Brazil.”
Taylor’s second show in Brazil is his second Tour of the eras show that it has been postponed for the past two weeks due to bad weather. The first was one of their shows in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where heavy rain fell.
