Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage may have looked in love on their wedding day, but six months later their relationship soured and it’s believed the shock split was due to allegations of infidelity and “controlling” behaviour.
Chris, 40, filed for divorce on Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences,” less than a year after tying the knot with the Euphoria actor — and just days after the ceremony aired on reality series “The Kardashians” .
But sources close to 28-year-old Lukas claim he was the one to end the relationship, with his partner’s alleged “controlling” tendencies fueling his decision.
“Luke ended it because Chris was controlling and possessive and he really thought he was the most important person on the planet,” an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

The longtime hairstylist (40), whose client Kim Kardashian surprised her fans this week by filing for divorce just six months after tying the knot with 28-year-old Lukas.
The source said the two were “acting together” but suggested their open relationship may have caused a rift between them.
They also claimed that Chris “filed the report first to save face” and “Conveniently, he waited until the Kardashians’ wedding episode aired before adding: “Everyone thinks it’s so dark.”
A separate source familiar with the situation said: “There was never an open relationship, Chris never cheated on Lukas.” The timing of filming is irrelevant to the episode; He had no choice but to file when he did.
“Luke had a side that Chris didn’t see before the wedding, and because it was Chris’ first marriage, he went into it with a lot of love.”

The former couple’s divorce date is listed as November 10, according to divorce documents. The documents show they also had a prenuptial agreement.
The source said: “They had a marriage and the divorce is easy as the marriage is only six months old. “Right now they are not getting along at all.”
The estranged couple tied the knot in Las Vegas in April, with Kim Kardashian, whose hair was cut by Chris, officiating at the surprise wedding. Shania Twain serenaded the couple.
The ceremony was documented on the Hulu series The Kardashians last week and left fans shocked.
The couple married in front of just six guests at Little White Chapel after applying for a marriage license in Clark County.

The estranged couple went public with their romance in February, posting vacation photos from the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico shared.

Chris looked downcast as he entered West Hollywood without his wedding ring on Tuesday.
