An impressive line-up of stars including Oscar-winning contenders Colman Domingo, America Ferrera, Jeffrey Wright, Greta Lee, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and the cast of the upcoming holiday release The color purple is among the winners of the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements.
Hosted by Nicco Annan of Starz’s P-TalThe event will take place Dec. 4 at the Fairmont Century Plaza, with Starz serving as the official media partner and airing the awards throughout January (it will also air on Nexstar stations in February). Additionally, Starz will present one of the nominees with a special Starz #TakeTheLead Award as part of its ongoing commitment to amplifying stories by, about and for women and underrepresented audiences.
Unlike last year, when the CCA held separate ceremonies for Black, Latino and AAPI performances, this year the CCA is hosting a one-time combined show due to the strikes, With over two dozen awards for some of this year’s most acclaimed films and television shows.
“In recent years, CCA has hosted individual celebrations for Black, Latino and AAPI Cinema & Television. CCA will return to individual trade shows in 2024, but by celebrating this special celebration, we can continue CCA’s tradition of supporting inclusivity and creativity in our industry,” said Joey Berlin, CEO of CCA. “I am extremely proud to recognize this diverse group of honorees together on this special night.”
