The future artist left his homeland because of the authorities.
Jean Reno is known as an actor in French cinema. And one of his most popular roles is Leon from Luc Besson’s film of the same name. However, the artist comes from a completely different European country and his name is different.
The future actor was born in 1948 in Casablanca. His father worked in a printing house, his mother worked as a seamstress. At birth, they named their son Juan Moreno y Herrera Jimenez. In the 60s, the family had to leave their homeland, fleeing from the then authorities – the Franco regime. To obtain French citizenship, Juan served in the French army.
Juan made his film debut in 1979. He later adopted the pseudonym Jean Reno and rewrote his first name Juan in the French manner. He reduced the Middle Moreno to Reno. Thus Jean Reno was born. Today in the media every now and then there is information about the departure of 74-year-old Jean Reno from the cinema. In fact, he is still actively filming, but his new work is much less successful.
