Today it is extremely difficult to imagine another Jade in the Clone series. The public is used to the look of the fatal brunette as played by Giovanna Antonelli. But initially the producers invited a completely different actress to the role.
Preparation for filming for Antonelli was quite a test. She had to lose a lot of weight. For 30 days she followed a grueling diet: in the diet only poultry meat and raw vegetables. Makeup artists dyed the Brazilian’s hair in a dark shade, before each day of shooting, straight hair was curled for several hours for the sake of volume. At the same time, the authors should suffer even more from the transformation of the first contender for the role.
The ideal Jade was seen in the actress Leticia Spiller – a spectacular blonde by that time was already popular in Brazil. However, she had to refuse the offer because of a job in the theater. Surely Spiller bit her elbows after the premiere, because the rival became a world superstar only thanks to this role.
