Now Freddie Mercury’s secret is revealed.
The lead singer of the legendary band Queen died more than 30 years ago, but his work is still of genuine interest. And recently a fact came to light that sounded like all fans: it turns out that the song “Bohemian Rhapsody” was originally called something completely different.
The truth was recently revealed in preparation for the auction, which will sell Freddie Mercury’s belongings. It was in his notes that the original version of the cult composition was discovered.
It turned out that the rhapsody was not “Bohemian”, but “Mongolian” – this is the word that appears in the artist’s designs. The singer made a sketch of the lyrics on a piece of paper in 1974, while the studio recording appeared a year later.
At the same time, there is not a word about the Mongols in the original version of the text, they are mentioned only in the title. This piece of paper, along with the remaining 14 pages, will be auctioned for a starting price of $1.5 million, Sky News reports.
