Linda Thorson broke down in tears on Good Morning Britain on Thursday as she paid tribute to boyfriend Paul O’Grady following his death aged 67.
The 75-year-old Avengers star became emotional as she recalled Paul’s final moments, saying he died in his own bed with husband Andre Portasio by his side.
Comedian Jenny Eclair also paid tribute to Paul, saying he “never lost sight of his kindness” as he found fame and success.
Speaking to hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray, Linda said: “He would have tea with the Queen. She liked him very much, and then he took the postman to dinner.
“He was generous to an extent, I will never meet anyone like him. He took care of me and I could feel it. I can’t believe to just hang up the phone and hours later someone dies so happily alive.

“He died in his own bed and his husband was there, he is only 41 years old Andre he will be so lost. We’ll all be there, Andre.’
Jenny (63) later said: “I didn’t know him as well as Linda, but I found it terribly moving to listen to her.
“I was a stand-up and Paul came on stage as Lily Savage and you waved back. Check it out! You can’t compete. He never lost sight of his kindness, his sincerity.
“I feel so sorry for the people who knew him best because it came out of the blue. We all deal with these blows.”
Paul became a household name in the early 1990s for his humor and love of animals and hosts a number of television programs including his self-titled daytime talk show The Paul O’Grady Show that aired in 2004.
He also took over from long-time Blind Date presenter and close friend Cilla Black, who died in 2015, to present the show’s Channel 5 reboot in 2017. For the love of dogs.
His husband Andre praised his “wit, his wit and his compassion” in a statement announcing his death just before 3am on March 29.
The child’s father’s cause of death was not immediately known, but he previously spoke of surviving heart attacks in 2002, 2006 and 2014 and kidney failure. He also had a grueling battle with Covid which left him unemployed for two months.

In his statement, Andre said: “It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul passed away unexpectedly but peacefully last night.
“At this difficult time, as you celebrate his life, we ask that you also respect our privacy as we process this loss.
He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all who enjoyed his wit, wit and compassion.
“I know he wants me to thank you for all the love you’ve shown him over the years.”
Paul and Andre got married in 2017 in a simple wedding ceremony.
