Britain’s most complained about TV show has been revealed after viewers lodged more than 75,000 complaints – and it wasn’t Love Island.
While the ITV dating show was known as the most regretted TV moment of 2022, with almost 3,000 viewers condemning a particular episode, the figures prove that another, more surprising show took the top spot.
In the past two years, Good Morning Britain has resulted in more than 75,623 Ofcom complaints, according to a new report.
In the TECC document obtained by The Sun, the news and talk show accounted for 36.63 per cent of all complaints received over time.
Love Island came second with 42,944, while Coronation Street was the most lamented TV soap.

In December, the dating show will be responsible for three of the year’s most lamented TV moments.
One particular episode came under fire for alleged tolerance of perceived misogynistic and bullying behavior.
Official figures released by Britain’s television and radio regulator Ofcom put the ITV2 flagship at the top of a list of ten, with many of its complaints relating to the July 17 episode.
Figures showed 2,630 viewers complained about “alleged misogynistic behavior by some male contestants” during the show’s Movie Night.
Additionally, 769 viewers complained about the July 18 episode of Aftersun, in which host Laura Whitmore and panelists speculated about what happened between Ekin-Su Culculoglu and George Tasker in the bedroom.
Contestant Tasha Gouri’s treatment during one of the most famous challenges was also questioned, with 1,523 complaints after the episode aired on July 19.
The professional dancer was repeatedly slapped in the face with cream cakes during a make out, marriage and cake contest – a regular part of the show which requires contestants to stab the person they find the most unattractive.
Ofcom said the complaints, which related specifically to that July 17 episode, related to “alleged bullying among the contestants, raising ongoing concerns about behavior by the male contestants, which they found to be misogynistic”.

During the show’s eight-week run, 7,482 complaints were filed about “alleged misogyny and bullying behavior” by some of the male contestants.
Other complaints filed focused on “alleged misogyny, emotional abuse and coercive control” by the male participants.
In 2021, Love Island received a record 24,763 Ofcom complaints about Faye Winter’s feud with Teddy Soares.
Thousands of viewers reached out to media regulators to express their displeasure at the episode, in which Faye angrily punched Teddy after seeing a clip of him at Casa Amor.
In the video, which was shown during the Islander’s Movie Night Challenge, Teddy told fellow contestant Clarisse Juliette that he was “sexually attracted to her.”
Faye’s tirade – which was branded “appalling”, “offensive” and “gaslighting” by fans of the show – led to the most haunting episode ever, with accounts of contestants swearing 125 times as Faye allegedly “f* *k” was washed 57 times.
And following the explosive scenes, Ofcom confirmed that the episode received almost 25,000 complaints.
An Ofcom representative told The Mirror: “We received a large number of complaints about Love Island last week, in line with a trend of growing complaints about high-profile TV shows.
“We carefully review the complaints we receive before deciding whether or not to investigate.”
The series previously peaked at 4,000 complaints after the episode in which Faye showed a postcard suggesting Teddy had cheated on her, with viewers furious that it was “misleading”.

Following the shocking episode, a Love Island spokesperson addressed the backlash, adding to the publication: “The well-being and duty of care of our contributors is always our primary concern and we take the emotional well-being of all Islanders extremely seriously.” .
“We always have dedicated social workers and psychological support on hand to monitor all islanders and often speak privately and off camera, especially when someone seems distressed.
“So all islanders are fully supported by the professionals on site and by their friends at the villa.”
They concluded, “Islanders can always reach out and talk to someone if the need arises.”
