Ben Affleck cheekily photographs Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka at the AIR premiere

Ben Affleck was feeling cheeky at Monday night’s star-studded AIR premiere in Los Angeles.

The 50-year-old actor decided to photograph co-star Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka at the event at the Regency Village Theatre.

Air, which tells the story of the rise of sneaker brand Air Jordan, is directed by Ben, who also plays Nike co-founder Phil Knight.

Other cast members include Matt Damon, who plays US CEO Sonny Vaccaro, and Chris Tucker, who appears as Nike VP Howard White.

At the premiere, Ben made a series of funny faces behind Jason and Amanda as he leaned seriously against Jason and also smiled while standing between them.

His friend was amused by his stunt and later stuck his tongue out as Ben continued to appear in his red carpet photos with his wife.

In the end, Ben, Jason and Amanda posed together for a photo where they all burst out laughing after their earlier pranks.

The first trailer for Ben and Matt’s star-studded film Air was released last month.

The shoes were designed for former basketball player Michael Jordan in 1984 while he was with the Chicago Bulls and were released to the public in 1985.

The Air trailer opens with Damon as athletic director Sonny Vaccaro as he learns that both sales and growth at Nike’s basketball division are declining.#

He is later called into Nike founder Phil Knight’s (Affleck) office, where he is spoken to sternly.

This is followed by Howard White (Chris Tucker) and George Raveling (Marlon Wayans) who tell Vaccaro that nobody likes Nike shoes.

While discussing a new idea with his boss (Bateman) on how to pitch individual players for sponsorship, Vaccaro is told he needs a pretty convincing pitch.

“I can tell them what other companies can’t match,” says Vaccaro. “Our basketball department is terrible.”

“I don’t like it,” replied his boss smugly.

Vaccaro then looks at numerous tapes looking for the perfect player to work with before finding one and showing it to Bateman’s character.

“Who is this Jesus? I can’t afford it,” he replied to Vaccaro.

Damon then drives off and shows up unannounced at an elderly couple (Davis and Julius Tennon) who seem skeptical of his intentions.

The trailer features a montage with Vaccaro making a strong plea for Knight to bring on a newcomer as one of the biggest faces of the brand.

In the montage, he gambles in a casino and loses, but picks up the die again and tries again.

Knight’s voice is then heard asking what their plan is, to which Vaccaro replies, “We’re building a shoe line around that.”

Vaccaro tells a designer he needs “the best basketball shoe ever,” and when asked who it’s for, steelily replies, “Michael Jordan.”

During a meeting with Davis’ character, Jordan’s mother Deloris, Vaccaro tells her, “I believe in your son.” I believe he is the future. And his story will make us want to fly. But a shoe is just a shoe.”

“Until my son gets in,” she replied as a man turned over a red and white sneaker in his hands.

The trailer ends with a humorous scene in which Knight asks Vaccaro if he has a name for the shoe. Vaccaro tells him the name is Air Jordan and Knight grimaces.

“Serious?” Vaccaro, upon seeing the face, asked, to which Knight replied, “Maybe it’s growing on me.”

Air is out in theaters on April 5.
