Al Murray left the UK hosts of Good Morning in shock when he showed off his new look on Tuesday.
The comedian – known for his role as Pub Landlord – shaves his hair for the role, but debuted a full head of hair and beard for his TV appearance.
Speaking to Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley about his new look, the 54-year-old comedian revealed that he had been bald for so long that fans often thought he couldn’t grow hair and would need “baldness remedies” send.
While the appearance came as a shock to his followers, Susanna was left speechless after admitting she hadn’t noticed the drastic transformation.
As she interrupted her conversation about the Spitting Image program, she suddenly thought: “I thought there was something different about you and I thought it was because you didn’t shave, but yes, of course you have hair!”

As Al began to laugh, Susanna sarcastically joked, “I’m so observant.”
Admitting he hadn’t noticed the change either, Richard admitted: “I’m going to say, ‘Have you lost weight?’ or so!’
Already answered: “People always say, ‘Did you lose weight?’ and I get stuff sent to me on Instagram asking, “Do you want to cure baldness?” and so on, but you don’t have to.’
Richard then asked, “Do you ever feel like you’ve created a monster you can’t escape?” as Al said, “If I cut my hair, yes.”
Admitting that he assumed the comic was bald, Richard exclaimed: ‘Oh, so you really cut your hair?’ Aren’t you bald?’
Susanna and Richard may not have noticed the change, as Al debuted in 2020 with a full head of hair for the first time.
The outspoken comedian left viewers stunned, while hosts Susanna and Ben Shephard were shocked when they commented on his new look.
Susanna said “I can’t believe it, last time I saw you your eyebrows were the only hair you had, what happened?”

Al explained: “I have her Susanna. I wanted to go on tour, so I had to cut my hair, but of course that didn’t happen, so I just let it grow out.”
He joked: “I look like the bar owner has been locked in the basement for a few months.”
The interview later descended into chaos when Ben was forced to reprimand Al after he made a rude gesture live on the show.
Al was not surprised by the news that Tim Davie, the BBC’s new chief executive, is reportedly trying to address a perceived “left-wing bias” in the channel’s comedy output.
He said: “The thing is, if people really want more right-wing comedy, they should vote for a left-wing government, whether you agree with that or not, it’s a comedian’s job to do evil and leave it unspeakable accept. and also to throw Vs to the government.’
He then stuck two fingers into the camera to demonstrate his point, shocking the daytime hosts.
