The rumored couple made their relationship official last week, proudly declaring they were boyfriend and girlfriend in a social media update.

Meanwhile, there was a big update for Love Island fans on Sunday when the fate of the show’s winter series was revealed.

Despite ratings hitting their lowest level in seven years this year, ITV bosses are said to be so enamored with Maya Jama, 28, at the helm that they have decided to bring the show back for another South African run.

A source told The Sun: “Maya has more than proven her worth as the presenter of Love Island and despite not having the best ratings for this winter series, she came through.

Love Island have already notified the owners of the £1.2m South African villa that they intend to return there later this year ahead of the winter 2024 show.

With Maya at the helm of the summer series, ITV believes her popularity will only increase, which she says will carry over to the next winter edition.

“Maya was crowned the winner of Love Island when her debut episode aired and ITV expect to continue making TV gold for them.”

MailOnline has reached out to ITV for comment.

Just 1.1 million people tuned in to see Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan crown the Love Island winners in this series.

It was the lowest for a program finale since the show’s second series and a massive drop from the 3 million recorded the previous year.
