Married at First Sight’s Duncan James leaves wife Alyssa Barmonde in tears after cruelly abandoning her latest vow: ‘I feel sick and betrayed’

Married at first sight groom Duncan James left his wife Alyssa Barmonde in tears on Sunday’s episode after he brutally dumped her during their latest vows ceremony.

Alyssa (35) told Duncan (36) at the ceremony that she “wants to fight for their relationship” – and she was blindsided when he said the feeling was not mutual.

“I know what love and a good relationship is and we both deserve it. But our ideas of what constitutes a healthy relationship seem to differ,” he told her.

“Maybe it’s our personalities or different ways of thinking. In any case, the gap seems too great to be bridged. I don’t want to hurt you or keep hurting you, so I have to say goodbye.”

“F**k I didn’t expect that,” replied a shocked Alyssa before walking away from her husband in tears.

Alyssa later admitted it was heartbreaking to hear Duncan say he didn’t want to be with her.

“The run away ruined me. I feel sick and betrayed,” she told the cameras.

Daily Mail Australia understands the pair have only exchanged texts once or twice since filming the show and things are worse than first thought.

“They’re not even talking right now,” a source revealed.

“They both agreed that it was best not to do interviews together and not even pretend to be together.”

“Alyssa knew that Duncan would never be okay, no matter how much she wished it would be. They both lead different lives.”

The source claimed Alyssa was pressured by the producers to say “yes” when they “obviously knew Duncan was going to dump her.” It wasn’t fair.”
