Ariana Grande Honors 10th Anniversary of Song The Way With Late Ex Mac Miller: ‘I Love You’

Ariana Grande took to Instagram over the weekend to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her and her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller’s song The Way.

The 29-year-old music artist, who recently collaborated with The Weeknd, reposted the music video, which was originally shared by a fan account, to her Instagram stories.

Underneath, in small white letters, the Florida-born musician wrote: “I love you.”

The caption on the @honeymoonavenue account reads: “The Way (feat. Mac Miller) was released 10 YEARS AGO today!!”

Ariana doubled down on her words when she also popped into the comments section to rewrite “I love you.”

Ariana and the Pittsburgh-raised rapper dated from September 2016 to May 2018.

When they broke up, Ariana started dating comedian Pete Davidson soon after, and the couple got engaged not long after.

Miller, born Malcolm James McCormick, died suddenly on September 7 later that year after an accidental drug overdose.

Davidson and Grande broke up the following month, ending their high-profile engagement while Ariana mourned.

The former Nickelodeon sensation later poured her heart out on her album Thank U, Next, which featured both relationships.

She told Vogue at the time: “My friends know how much comfort music brings me, so I think it was an all-encompassing situation, let’s take them there.”

“But to be honest, I don’t remember those months of my life because I was (a) so drunk and (b) so sad.”

The entertainer candidly added: “I don’t remember exactly how it started or how it ended or how suddenly there were 10 numbers on the board.”

The little pop princess continued: “I think this is the first album and also the first year of my life that I realized that I can no longer delay time with myself, just like me.

“I’ve been bullied my whole adult life. I always had someone to say good night to,” she muses.

“So thank you, next was that moment of self-realization. It was a scary moment of, ‘Wow, you have to face all this stuff now. No more distractions. You have to heal all that shit.”
