Regé was on her chat show with Lorraine via video link, where he discussed his upcoming film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

But the conversation quickly turned to the most recent study, with Regé looking a little uncomfortable as Lorraine congratulated him on his new title.

However, the Bridgerton star was quick to relax as he and Lorraine shared a laugh, with the host once calling him “gorgeous” while also joking: “Enjoy being the most beautiful thing in the world!”

Lorraine told Regé about the study and explained: “As you know, many scientists gathered in their white coats and serious expressions and realized that you are the most attractive man in the world.

“Congratulations on that. Congratulations to your parents too!’

When the Adonis seemed to balk at the news, Lorraine insisted: “It’s beautiful, it’s beautiful, but at the end of the day you’re a very good actor and that’s the most important thing.”

Regé laughed nervously and then replied, “You use all the colors on the palette when you create your art and I’m glad I have that perception out there somewhere.” I’m sure it will be useful to someone somewhere.”

He modestly added: “It was new to me. This was news to everyone. But you know, I’ll take it.”

The test, a mathematical formula developed in ancient Greece to determine “physical perfection” by comparing measurements, proportion and symmetry, has also seen the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Michael B. Jordan and Harry Styles do well.

When the interview ended, Lorraine told Regé to “come to me next time”

Then she told him: “Enjoy it, enjoy the attention. Enjoy being the most beautiful thing in the world and just keep doing what you’re doing.”

Speaking to PA, he said: “It’s a natural place for actors to hang out, a great improv game but with magic and dragons.

“Just think of the wildest, most magical thing you can do, and then give it to the player next to you.

“Players (like) Chris Pine are so observant, so witty, it becomes even wilder than magic.”

Lorraine continues on ITV weekdays from 9am.
