Married at First Sight’s Duncan James and Alyssa Barmonde have called it quits.
Duncan, 36, confirmed the sad news at the unofficial MAFS meeting hosted by Nova FM’s Fitzy & Wippa at the Grounds of Alexandria restaurant this week.
“I contacted Alyssa during the week to see how she was doing,” he told Nova host Kate Ritchie.
“I said I would be there for her and call her, or if there was anything I could do to help her, I would, but I didn’t get an answer.”
Duncan and Alyssa started out as one of the strongest couples in the experiment.

But this week, Daily Mail Australia revealed the cyber security sales executive plans to cruelly flout the mother-of-one on her final vows.
According to a regular spy, Alyssa was in tears when Duncan blindsided her when he revealed his decision to end their relationship.
The smitten bride was said to have been snapped being “hung on a leash” as producers seemed to know Duncan had no intention of staying by her side.
A source close to the devastated bride revealed: “Alyssa just didn’t understand why she was being seduced.”
“Alyssa knew that Duncan would never be okay, no matter how much she wished it would be. They both lead different lives.”

The source claimed Alyssa was pressured by the producers to say “yes” when they “obviously knew Duncan was going to dump her. It wasn’t fair.”
Duncan’s bombshell confession left Alyssa visibly disheartened as he told her coldly, “I don’t want to hurt you, and I don’t want to keep getting hurt.”
Daily Mail Australia understands Alyssa and Duncan have only exchanged texts “once or twice” since the show began filming and things are worse than first thought.
“They don’t even talk to each other right now,” another source said.
“They agreed that it was best not to do interviews together and not even pretend to be together.”
Despite the opposition, Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton, along with Melinda Willis and Layton Mills, are the only two MAFS couples to continue their relationship outside of the experiment.
