An audience gathered with the finalists and Maya to witness the winning moment in real life, while the past few days were recapitulated in pre-recorded segments.
Based on the public vote, a lucky couple were crowned the winners of Winter Love Island at Monday’s live final, receiving £50,000 to share.
In addition to the money, Islanders are often bombarded with press opportunities, brand partnerships and TV deals when they leave the mansion.
That means even those who didn’t win the show are well on their way to a more than satisfying payday away from the mansion.
